had arrived to our hotel in shinjuku by dinner time and were just a lil exhausted, we decided to find something to eat around the area. intentionally looked for a yakiniku joint which seemed to be closed down..permanently!! oh how restaurant quickly come and go..so we randomly walked in small kobayashi where we spotted a sukiyaki and unaju at the window..old school it is, opened since 1905 and runs by an old chef and his wife w. one other waitress
lovely sake to start the evening with..liking the bamboo container very..
our first appetizer, toriwasa (clover salad w. lightly boiled chicken)..very refreshing..must order!
sazae tsuboyaki (grilled sazae in sake) is very nice and comfort..sweet sweet soup
sweetie who was preparing for us
it’s good..must hurry before it’s over cooked! dip it in the yolk if u like
unaju was not freshly prepared and quite too sweet for my tastebud
if your in shinjuku area, drop by..the place is homey and most food is comforting
